FAQ - PRF hair treatment cost, and more

Question: How long does the procedure take?

Answer: It depends which area is being treated but the procedure takes roughly 30min to complete.

Question: Does the procedure hurt?

Answer: Initially blood is drawn from the patient. This involves introducing a needle into a vein, just like when you have your blood drawn for labs studies. Depending on the purpose of the procedure, the PRF will then be injected to the area of interest. This will usually involve a very fine and small needle for scalp and skin injections. For joint injections, the procedure is similar to a corticosteroid injection with the addition of the blood draw.

Question: How many sessions do I need?

Answer: The use of injectable PRF is a relatively new technology and optimal scheduling has yet to be studied. However, we know that PRF stays in the location of injection and releases biological factors more slowly than PRP. It is also known that repeat, scheduled sessions improve results in comparison to single sessions. Depending on the location of the treatment and the stage of the process, our physicians will be able to determine an individualized schedule. In general for thinning hair, we’ve seen good results with 4-6 PRF hair treatment sessions spaced two or four weeks apart.

Question: How much will it cost?

Answer: This depends on the location of the treatment and the number of sessions. Nationally, PRP and PRF treatments cost $500-$900 per session. We offer various packaged sessions for different services. PRF hair treatment packages range from $1500-$2500.
